I Fed an AI Quotes from Mr. Rogers. Here is How It Continues His Legacy

Sometimes, something comes along that grabs your attention and won’t let go. It monopolizes your thoughts, and it’s all you want to learn/do/play with.

For me, that thing is new Artificial Intelligence platforms that study, essentially, everything that has ever been written ever, in every language, and uses that knowledge to emulate real human written communication.

OpenAI’s language model GPT-3 has digested 175 billion data parameters, or 45 terabytes of text. That comes out to 22.5 quadrillion words that this piece of AI has absorbed into its mental capacities. It is an artificial intelligence that has, essentially, learned everything humans have learned in the history of humanity.

So, what can you do with it?

Well, you can have it write love notes from your toaster for one. You can even train it to emulate you – yes you – by feeding it information about who you are, and then hook it up to a phone number so people can chat with an AI version of you.
