The general story is this: I was married to someone else, and my now-wife was married to someone else. I was unhappy, she was unhappy. We found each other, and now both of us are happy.
We both still have great relationships with our exes. It’s a weird dynamic, but it works for us. More importantly, it works for our kids.
One thing my wife really didn’t enjoy about being married to her ex is that whenever she had a crazy idea, a lofty goal, or a fun vision, his very first knee-jerk reaction was to shoot down the idea immediately.
